About Us
History
Founded in 1981 as Hospice of Polk County, our local, Medicare-certified, non-profit agency has, for more than 25 years, provided care for individuals, and their families, who cope with terminal illness. In 1995, we changed our name to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills to reflect our service to patients and families in a larger community.
Those We Serve
Hospice serves Polk County, North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina, from Landrum down to Inman and from Glassy Mountain over to Fingerville. All services are available to children and adults of any age, religion, race, or end-stage illness.
Affirming Life
Today, 60 professional staff and 150 trained volunteers provide expert care to hundreds of people each year through a variety of services that help them understand and cope with serious and terminal illness, loss and grief. We strive to improve our community’s quality of living and dying through hospice care, palliative care, bereavement care and education.
